Karma Will Wait For You

The universe will collect what it's owed,
and you owe it a soul.
Karma doesn't forget.
It learns your name.
It takes notes.
Karma waits.
Oh how it will wait for you.
Your actions will not come with applause.
They will come with: echos,
and dreams,
and visions,
and a tightness in your chest,
and a pit in your stomach.
Karma will hit you hard some day,
and you will have to pay.
You cannot avoid this one.
It will haunt you forever.
You took a soul tie—a good man—a man who saw how broken you were-
and was willing to heal with you-
and you tossed him aside.
You lied.
You played games.
You manipulated.
You deserve to be hated.
Karma will wait for you,
and karma will take back what you burned down.
You will choke on the smoke,
and be shocked about it when it fills your lungs,
even though you were the one that burned down the house.
You are the one with the gasoline in your hands.
You are the one who threw the match.
Karma will eat at your soul
until you are old.
It will live in your bones
and when you are alone;
you'll feel it creep up;
you'll feel its presence
until you take accountability for your actions.
Karma will haunt you.
Karma will hunt you.
And eventually,
karma will find you,
and you’ll get exactly what you deserve.
