As I sat in the sunshine, the wind whispered to me,
'Everything has its opposite,
Or everything is on a constantly moving spectrum . . .? Which is it? . . . Which is it, Clint? . . .'
. . .
The shadow should have an opposite.
It is inevitable that it would, isn't it?
Some sort of repressed light deep in our unconscious . . .
Maybe for every shadow there is an equal sun—an equal light? One that is just as powerful as the shadow?
Yes . . . where has the positive psychology been?
Treating psychology like it’s medicine, only to be used when a symptom starts to emerge, is only a method for madness.
The light should never be dismissed.
Most believe in it.
They feel it.
But focus on the opposite.
The law of equal opposites . . . Can it be applied to the psyche? Or can the theory of the constantly moving spectrum be applied?
If there is a shadow side, then there should be an image of yourself that is its opposite.
What is your deepest fear?
Some say our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
Some say that accountability and responsibility for their own lives is their deepest fear.
Some are afraid of failure.
And maybe some are terrified of their light . . . Maybe there are those that are afraid of being gentle—loving?
Maybe some don’t want to be important?
Maybe some ignore the call to adventure?
Maybe some people want to be left alone to do whatever they want to?
Maybe people are afraid of freedom?
Maybe some people want to choose pleasure and stimulus over living?
Maybe some people want nothing?
'. . . But . . . Maybe for every shadow there is an equal sun? And your sun is what you could become if you followed your fears to their end?
. . . If there is a shadow inside of us, then there has to be a sun . . .
. . . Some sort of repressed light deep in our unconscious . . .
. . . What will you become
when you start to see your sun?'
