A Prayer
I have two stories raging inside of me:
One full of hope and love and heroics and faith and trust and belief and light,
And the other story is full of disappointment and darkness and jealousy and pain and regrets and nightmares and fear and walls.
One of the stories dominates the other one for a while.
But never forever.
The other story fights back.
The other story rages.
The left hand
And the right hand
each have something opposite to say;
And when I type,
When I imagine,
When I reflect,
They get into a fistfight.
Doubt rages against hope.
Jealousy rages against trust.
Fear rages against courage.
Darkness fights the light.
The night tries to consume the day.
And through it all
I pray that she will stay.
But why would she when I am this way?
