What I'll Remember

I will remember

All of the sweet things she’s done for me

She may be tempted to remember the suffering

But I will remember all the little acts of kindness she showed me

I will remember the fact that she opened up her soul

She opened up her home

And let me in

I will remember how special she made me feel

And all of the meals

I will remember her laugh

And her smile

More than my tears

I’ll remember her dog, the bed hog

And waking up with next to her

As she hits the snooze 18 times before getting up

I will remember reading books out loud to each other in bed

And I will remember how perfect her lips felt on mine

I will remember how she took my cold soul

And made it melt

I will remember how she smelled

And how she looked at me when she loved me

I will remember watching her listen to live music

And how much joy that gave her

I will remember her in my hoodie

And how her booty hung out of it

I will remember how she made me feel on my birthday

I will remember all of the waves

I will always remember running my hands up and down her bare back

I will always remember how she flew across the country to take a chance on me

And I will always remember driving across the country

To take a chance on us

I will remember that she taught me how to trust

And how to overcome lust

I will remember every single time we hugged

And I will always remember how she loved . . .
