The News

There is nothing to gain

And so much to lose

By watching the news

Lies disguised as truth

A political game

That’s gone too far

A game of money

And power

And we are the crowd

That cheer’s or boo’s

When they win

Or when they lose

We’re suckered into it

We try not to pay attention

But when they make enough noise

We tune in again

A steady stream of the world’s sin

Twisted to win points

Twisted to get votes

Twisted to smear

This cooperate press

Dead in our chest

The pumping heart

Is fed lies from the start

What horrible news it is

To learn

There is nothing to gain from the news

And everything to lose.
