Remember, Remember, the Fifth of November,
“People should not be afraid of their governments, governments should be afraid of their people.”
The gunpowder Treason and Plot;
Let me ask you, do you believe in that sentence? Do you support the idea that governments should be afraid of their people, not people afraid of their governments? Well then, congrats, you are a revolutionary; for the revolution starts with the ideas of who we should be, and not the acceptance of who we are.
I see no reason the gunpowder and treason should EVER be forgot.
How far have we fallen? How far do we have to go to get back an inch of freedom?
When you look outside of your window, out onto society, what do you see? Something smells funky, doesn't it? Does it fit in your idea of who we should be? . . . I see. Congrats! You are a revolutionary. Nice to finally meet ya.
Don’t be afraid of who you are. Don’t be intimidated or shamed by your rebellious spirit. Don’t be scared of what we can do together. This world changes with or without us. But, if something doesn’t feel right, and you feel called to fight—if you feel it within, and you wish to begin to rebel—then welcome, my friend. You little rebel, you.
Beneath our mask, there is an idea. And ideas are bulletproof.
This isn't about dominance or power, but the liberty to live life entirely on our own terms, unconstrained by external forces or societal expectations. Our philosophy extends beyond ourselves, as we fight to liberate others from oppression and inspire those around us to seek their own freedom.
“. . . the true revolutionary is guided by great feelings of love.” -Che Guevara
Our lives are our examples of the freedom. If we shrink away from the things we must face, we unconsciously give the rest of the world permission to do the same. We must rage against our cage until things change.
We must not settle for what this world is, but we must believe in what it can be.
Our own unbridled freedom and optimism will be contagious. It is already spreading. People are beginning to believe again. We inspire our allies to pursue their own dreams and find their own freedom by living authentically.
In the end, will we have lived a life well lived? Or will we have settled for this pit we were born into? Will we regret accepting it for how it is at the end? In the end, will we have lived, or were we alive?
“There are no coincidences, only the illusion of coincidences.” -V
Here you are. At your first revolutionary meeting. I wonder what you will do now . . .
“We are told to remember the idea, not the revolutionaries, because humans can fail. Mankind can be caught. We can be killed and forgotten, but 400 years later, an idea can still change the world.” -Evey
Do you believe that? Does it stir your soul? Well then, welcome home.
“Our integrity sells for so little, but it is all we really have. It is the very last inch of us. But within that inch, we are free.” -Valerie
Some day we will be free to dance in the streets together without the fear of our governments. That’s the future I see. That’s what I believe. Do you see what I see? Do you feel the same way I do? Do you feel caged? Well, then, my friend, dance. Dance.
Like V once said, “A revolution without dancing is a revolution not worth having.”
Your authentic self was beat out of you, but it still lingers in your soul, like a lighthouse calling you home. Come home. Follow the light. And join the fight if you want to.
You see, my little rebel, there are certain things that absolutely cannot be stopped, only fought against—only caged and contained.
These are the things absolutely cannot be stopped: a person’s dreams, the strength of inherited will, love, and the ebb and flow of time. As long as the endless dream of freedom is sought, these things will never cease to exist. We must create a space of these things to be amplified and never minimized.
Do you feel that spark inside of your soul? Let it grow.
Do you see the things worth fighting for?
Do you see the fight?
All you need is your words to rage against our cage. All you need is your voice and your soul to change our home.
Do me a favor today, will ya? Remember it today. Feel it. And believe in it again.
Remember, remember the 5th of November,
the gunpowder treason and plot.
I know of no reason why
the gunpowder treason
should ever be
forgot.
