Shadows Follow

This'll never reach her

and pain is the best teacher

so blast this one through every speaker

until it's known in the soul of every wolf and blackbird

Alone is the ego, cold and beaten

broken are the bones that help a man stand

but the indomitable human spirit rages

demanding a final stand

Life's not over, just the love is

Love exists in everything

Good eyes, young man

we had almost forgotten

Love exists in everything

Blind is the man following the line

while the voice is a choice

and words are spells

leave the demons behind when you leave hell

but know, shadows follow

that's your darkness

The blind fly, like Icarus did

learning to see

cursed with seeing themselves clearly

learning to fall

burning an effigy

Leave the demons behind when you make it out of hell

but know

shadows follow

and it's us who are responsible

for the damage they may do

So choose your words carefully

there is no taking back the venom

when they sting those who love you
