Right Before The Sunrise

It's right before the sun rise
and you've spent an eternity
searching for the light,
fighting against
the forever night.
You shiver.
You tremble.
You growl,
like a wolf
calling to the moon.
You call for the sun to rise.
There are no stars in the sky tonight.
It is the blackest of blacks—the darkest of darks.
If you can just make it
a few more minutes
you’ll feel the sun rays
on your skin again.
Just a few more minutes
until the sun rises—
until the light shines.
It’s darkest before dawn.
The nightingale is almost out of song.
It won’t be long until the rise.
Carry on
for a bit longer, my friend.
Carry on.
Make it through the storm.
Keep pushing forward.
Soon, very soon, you’ll be alright
Soon, very soon, you’ll see the light.
Just survive
the last few seconds
before the sunrise.
