Choosing Myself

If I choose myself,
If I really choose myself,
Then I am choosing the me that loves you;
Because I do love you.
So how can I choose myself and not love you?
It is the ‘I’ that loves you—the ‘me’. ‘The myself’ that I chose is so in love with you.
I can't choose a version of me that doesn't want to share a life with you because that version of myself doesn't exist. That isn't me. It's a fantasy.
I, Clint Haugen, love you.
If I choose myself, than I choose you. It’s inevitable. It’s inseparable.
I choose love.
Why wouldn't I?
Being in love with you is incredible.
I don't want it to stop.
Loving you is as natural as breathing.
The person who gets to experience love is the one who wins in the end.
To ignore my feelings is to betray myself.
To let love's flame extinguish is to die.
To ignore my feelings is to betray myself . . .
If I want to live from a place of love and not from fear
Than here I stand,
Proudly choosing you again.
I am afraid, but fear does not control me anymore.
I choose to live from love, and not from fear.
