Anything

Tell me something

Anything

   Because lately

I’ve been all or nothing for a lady

And losing her in slow motion like this

Is making me a little crazy

    So feed me something new

Tell me something funny

Let me read a new story

Keep the news and keep your views

Read me some inspiring poetry instead

Come and find me

    I’ll probably be in bed

But every now-and-then

I’ll be at a coffee shop or a bar

Or at a park with a book

Knock on my door

  Give me a call

   Send me a text

Hit me up for—. . .

Well, let’s wait a little longer for that

I’m not quite ready for sex with someone else

Maybe hit me up for a kiss

And play a few songs from a playlist

Preferably from a time in your life when you were brokenhearted

I’ll listen

   And we can cry

 if we need to

    We can try

to forget for a moment

    that everyone dies

We can get high

And try to understand each other better

We can get lost in deeper talks together

We can walk the streets side-by-side, sharing stories

You can look into my eyes and tell me what you see

    We can breathe freely

and watch the clouds in the sky pass us by

Let's stretch the present out into eternity, forgetting everything

Find me in the woods, watching the river run

Lay with me

   Soak up the sun

Life's too short to focus on the darkness

Come and be a light with me

Tell me something

    Anything

Because lately

I’ve been all or nothing for a lady

And losing her in slow motion like this

    Fucking sucks.

   So someone, anyone,

come and

distract me.
