We do not get

Time again

Once it’s passed us by

It is forever with

All of the other seconds

That have lived and died

A collection so unfathomably large

To the all seeing eye

Somewhere watching over us

From beyond space and time


The past doesn’t change

Just because we want to forget it

It lingers on

And echoes into the still night

Never leaving us

Always feeding us

Spoonfuls of regret

Throwing the darkness

Overtop of the light.
