The Wandering Privilege

“People almost invariably arrive at their beliefs not on the basis of proof but on the basis of what they find attractive.”

Most of who you are is hidden from you.

It’s your job to discover who you truly are.

It’s all within, just waiting for you to find it.

Firstly, you must face who you really are; you might not want to see that truth; you might be protecting yourself from yourself. It takes courage to look at the self as objectively as you can manage for you are the most biased person of them all when it comes down to who you truly are.

Who has more of a distorted view of who you are than you do?

They see you, but not who you truly are, but they see what they can see; what you show them and what they're capable of knowing.

There’s a whole maze inside of your head and it's a privilege to wander it and discover every twist, turn and trap inside of yourself.

It’s a lifelong journey, and the opportunity of a lifetime, to bring the unconscious into the conscious light. To take the opportunity for granted would be a terrible mistake. This is the only way to take some damn control over your own behavior.

The collective has an unconscious as well, and that is a whole nother maze to sift through.

Waking up I think means slowly seeing who you truly are. It’s not seeing the collective for what it really is, it’s seeing the self for what it is.  After that, we might be able to see the collective a little more clearly.

“The Shadow is everything you are, but don’t want to be.” - Alejandro Jodorowsky.

“A lot of change is possible by just acknowledging unconscious bias—that exhaustively documented but unpleasant reality many would rather ignore—and listen with less bias and acting on what we then learn.”

You may take it for granted—that you know who you are—but I assure you that you are much more complicated than you’re giving yourself credit for.
