The Gods

I stood in front of the Gods
Waiting to be sentenced
But the Gods were feeling generous
And instead of being sent to hell
They changed me
They blessed me
They severed my ties to poverty
And Hades
Lifted a curse that I had since birth
Poseidon cured the poison that was in my veins
And Zeus made me as quick as lightning
Aphrodite blessed me with love
Apollo showed me his sun
And before it could set
It warmed my soul
And lingered inside of my spirit
And with it
He told me to shine
Athena gave me some of her wisdom
Which calmed the storms in my mind
Hermes had a message for me
He told me that I was burdened with a glorious purpose
At my lowest
When I was done for
At the moment when chaos ruled my mind
Right as I was all out of time
The Gods gifted me light
And told me to shine.
