Magic In A Lady

His beat-up old car
Rolls forward
From the west cost
To the east cost
Filled to the roof
With all of his things
His stereo sings songs of love
And of profound change
And as the leaves fall off of the trees
He tries to believe
His beat-up old car
Will make it that far before winter
So they can finally be together
Splitting rent In a small one bedroom apartment
It’s all he wants in his life right now
It’s the changing of his season
It’s him believing in his soul
That this a love that’ll grow
Into magic
This is it, the big risk
An opportunity for a special kind of home
One he wouldn’t let slip through his fingers
3 months since he’s seen her
But her smell still lingers on his clothes
He truly believes
This is his season
This is the time
For his new life
This is right
His car rolling away from his old home
Taking him to a place where he won’t be alone
No more loving through a phone
No more miles between him and her
The stripes on the road pass in a blur
His dog sits in his passenger seat
Head out of the window
His tongue flopping around in the wind
Everything within him
Tells him
This is right
Love is not a fight
To take a chance on a love like this
To risk it all for the fall
It is without a doubt
The right call
Some think he’s a romantic and a little crazy
But he believes he’s finally found it
Magic in a lady.
