Leave This Toxic World Behind

Come with me, my love,
leave this toxic world behind
Find me in the forest,
attempting to hide from it all
I’ll be chatting with the tree’s,
trying to believe that their leaves
will never fall
Find me next to the river
in the middle of December
I’ll be watching the sunlight
reflect off of the water,
while praying to God’s I can’t see
The soil under my shoes whispers to me
telling me that looking for God
is like looking for the author in the book
It wouldn’t make any sense
if God/the author was in it
I will wait patiently, my love,
for you to find me
I will try to think of your lips
And the way you move your hips
I will try to remember your touch
And the way you used to look at me;
But as the sun rises and sets,
And the days pass,
I start to forget
That scares me most of all
It’s been too long since I’ve seen you
The beauty of this world cannot replace you
The love of another doesn’t compare
The touches from another lover make me shiver
Alas, my love, I am nothing but a sinner
It’s true,
Nothing and no one can replace you
You are my everything
You give meaning to the lyrics true love sings
These memories fade
But somehow, my love remains
I think of you every night
Waiting for when
you will be curled up in my arms again
Until then
I will live
I will love
The days will pass
We will get old and wrinkly
The seasons will change
But my love for you will remain
So please, while we still have some time,
Come with me, my love,
And leave this toxic world behind.
