Killing Imagination

If I go crazy
Will I still be able to take a hold of the moment?
Control it and grow it?
If every thought plants a seed,
Then why do I still bleed?
If I could just focus on just one thing,
Then hocus pocus,
Magic is made.
The only problem is
They’ve come for every second
They’ve come to sell us our time back to us
These corporations
These apps
These movies and shows
This government
And it grows and grows and grows
It has to
That’s the business model
That’s progress, isn’t it?
Every damn second
Our attention
Our thoughts
Our life
We have to fill it with something
So they sell us filler
For when we are bored
For when we procrastinate
For when we want to be lazy
For when we want to escape reality
If I go crazy
Can I still push back?
Will she still love me?
If I point out the fact that we are under attack
And try to fight back
Will they put me in a straight jack?
Will I lose friends
If I see it until it’s end
They just want to blend in
But I am tired of bleeding out.
Could we fight back?
Do we have a chance?
From one war to the next
All while being sold sex
Waiting on that one text
Waiting for that one moment
When you feel the fire in your soul again
If you had one shot
In one moment
Could you grab a hold of it?
Would you fly if the world needed you to?
Could you be a symbol of hope?
Or just more greed on top of greed
What’s your seed?
What do you want to grow in your home?
Do you feel your seconds getting sucked out of you?
Isn’t that your soul bleeding?
Ain't that your ears ringing?
They don’t drop bombs anymore
They don’t stand in a line and shoot each other
No
They sell your life back to you
And when you buy it
You have no time left to do anything with it
We will sell all of our time
We will drown every thought in our mind
We will kill boredom
And with it
Imagination
Have I gone crazy?
Or is this the way the world spins?
