Identity

Open your eyes

and see past what they identify me as.

I am more then my gender

I am more then my race

I am more than my age

I am the mind

and the soul.

I am all the variables

I am everyone I’ve met

I am every book I’ve read

I’m every song I’ve heard

I’m all the moments of suffering

and all the moments of joy

You cannot see that,

you have to experience it,

and once you do that,

then maybe

you’ll glimpse

a fraction

of who I am.

So take your labels

and shove them up your ass.
