Destination Annulment

It was the day of his wedding

300 people had flown to Hawaii for the sunset ceremony

His 4 sisters confronted him after the rehearsal dinner

All of them convinced he was about to make the worst mistake of his life

One of them said,

“You don't have to do it. It'll be okay if you don't. You'll piss off 300 people, but we just can't let you marry her.”

He nodded in agreement,

A fog over his eyes,

His fingernails digging into his palm,

He slowly said to his sister's,

“. . . But . . . she loves me? . . .”

The next day

The new bride was crying

As she asked her new husband,

“What now?”

She wept and wept

And kept asking him,

“What now? . . . What now?? . . . What now??”

Which, confused, he responded with,

“Now we are married?”

He watched her, unsure what to say to make her feel better.

But,

Her weeping continued.

She wept and wept and wept.

They got the marriage annulled a few weeks later.

The Mountain Moved

The mountain moved! I swear the mountain across the river moved! You see, I asked for it to. It was blocking my view of the sunset. So I closed my eyes, and in my mind, I kindly asked the mountain to

Behind Her Eyelids
