Deeper

The deeper I can dive into a story

The further away I can drift

From everyone else . . .

Who needs friends when you can create characters?

Who needs a real lover when you can write the perfect one?

These stories

Are for people

But they feel more important

And more real

Than actually getting to know people

I know it’s not a good thing

I know it’s another vice

I know I am addicted to it

And I know that if I continue to live this way, 

I’ll let everyone I ever cared about slip away . . .
