All You Can Do

“These things eat at your bones
And drive your young mind crazy.”
. . .
Damned no matter what you do.
Stardust with everything to lose.
An infinite amount of paths to choose.
Light and darkness from the sun.
Warmth and cold in the souls of the bold.
A burning desire to be loved for who you are,
And not what you could become.
Where’s your person? Where’s she at? Is she running late?
These dreams linger, not quite dead yet.
This life doesn’t have to be full of regret.
Where are you going, Kid?
Didn’t you used to be a good man?
What happened to you, Kid?
It’s not that bad out there. There’s still joy in the air somewhere.
Don’t be bitter, Kid. Don’t become a quitter
Didn’t you love her? Didn’t you? Well that's something, Kid. That’s something.
There’s a few out there that would love to be you.
Appreciate your bitter view while you can.
Someone would kill to be you;
To have what you have;
To look like you look;
To be where you are.
Someone would die to be you.
Look back and see how far you’ve come.
Look forward and see where you’ll go.
And try to be proud and continue to grow.
It’s all you can do, Kid.
