A Shared Life

I know of no better pursuit in life than to share one.

To let someone in,

under your skin,

into your bones,

giving them a piece of your soul

and still wanting to give them more,

I bet there is no better pursuit in life

than that one.

To overcome a few of our fears,

And face what makes us insecure

With someone else,

Who is doing the same thing

Inside of themselves

That is worth more than gold;

More than diamonds;

More than a mansion;

More than a new car;

It is magic.

To find a soul

That matches our own,

And together

Attempt to grow,

And build a home,

It is a noble goal.

One to be proud of.

In their eyes

Is where we see ourselves,

And realize,

There is no better pursuit than to share our lives with someone who we love;

With someone who loves us;

And to trust

That this spark

Can grow into a flame,

And if we both stay mindfully engaged

We can breathe life into the fire,

And feel love rage.
