She whispers in my ear,

‘Can you not see me?’

I look over my shoulder.

No one is there.

‘Nope’, I responded.

‘Well why the hell not??’

‘It’s because you’re gone babe.’

I took a big swig from my drink,

that was dangling between my fingers.

I sat back in my chair,

with my eyes almost shut,

and my voice is barely louder than a whisper.


‘You’re gone babe. You're gone…'
