The Pursuit Of Happiness

In this country,

the pursuit of happiness

is often mistaken

for the pursuit

of personal

pleasure.

The problem is,

pleasure does not equal happiness.

It is only

a temporary fix,

that leaves us,

unfulfilled.

And too often

we’re in a constant state

of seeking

more

and

more

pleasure.

This leaves us feeling

emptier

and emptier.

We seem to forget

our freedom

comes with responsibility.
