Nothing Has Changed

There was a moment

After sex

When she was laying in my arms

While my dog

Licked her face

She turned around

And looked at me

Right into my eyes

And I

I looked back into her eyes

But just for

A second or two

Before I

Could no longer

Hold her gaze with mine

I felt the fear

Of being naked

Truly

Naked

And vulnerable

And I consciously chose

To

Look away . . .

This is

The cowards way

Nothing has changed

Nothing has changed . . .

After all of this time

And I am still

The same.
