A View From Above

From up above

The man looks down

At all of the eyes and lips

Below him

They fidget

And blink

And

They haven’t had their coffee yet

Some of them are still in bed

Some of them have static in their head

And some of them have been well fed

‘Oh well,’ he says, from the view from above.

‘They can still love.’

He shrugged

And went up to a pair of lonely eyes

And offered a hug

But the eyes

Got embarrassed

And cried

‘Oh well,’ he says, from the view from above.

‘At least I tried.’

They shoved food

In their mouths

And chewed furiously.
